Living la Vida Cheetah Part 2

Though I posted the Part 1 to this post months ago, I decided to finally put up Part 2.  This are photos from a book I made two years ago called "Living la Vida Cheetah"

It documents my obsession with cheetah print- I did these lips with some liquid eye liner and a dash of creativity.

Cheetah print really is O So Fabulous.

Outfit #20

Things have been crazy busy these days.  Finals week, moving out, working on my friend's film for 12 hours a day.  Needless to say, my outfits have been lacking.  But here is what I wore my last day of finals.  I had been painting for a week straight (9 paintings to do in only 6 weeks!)  Pictures of those will be posted soon.

But this outfit was just so comfy to wear- Urban Outfitters top; Tights from TJ Maxx, Nike sneakers (a birthday present from my grandmother), and mom's jewelry

Traffic

I've said it once and I'll say it again.  If you ever get bored in traffic- just take pictures.

Portrait Obsession

For some reason I have a strange obsession with taking photos of people.  Here are a few I took on my Nikon 35mm film camera about a year ago.

Longing for the Coast

I miss the beach right now.  I've been up north for the whole summer so far and am getting a bit sad.

These photos of my sister always make me smile.  She looks like she came out of Hollywood in the 1950's

Time Warp

I found this picture of me from last year.  I'm standing in front of a Galaxy 500.  No, it's not mine but I wish it was.  Mostly because of the Reverend Horton Heat  song "Galaxy 500"

Some of My Favourites...

Sometimes I wish I was in one of my favorite old movies...

Swing Time
I have the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers collection on DVD, but Swing Time was the first film of theirs I had seen.  Ginger sure can dance, and I've tried once or twice to learn the waltzes from this movie.  Oh, if you're wondering... I didn't succeed in learning the waltzes.
All About Eve
This film is a must see.  Bette Davis and her raspy voice instantly caught my attention. Oh, and the outfits are beautiful.
Sabrina
I saw this movie on TCM one day when I was sick.  Since I'm not the biggest Audrey fan, I wasn't sure if this film was worth watching.  I was so wrong.  Instantly I was sucked in to the movie and hoped that it would never end.

This is not a very detailed list of my favorite old movies.  Maybe I'll feature one every few days.  So many, so little time...

Outfit #19

I found this book at Brooks Brothers.

Today I finally broke out my new shirt.  I was thrilled the day I bought it and prayed for a cold day to come by so I could whip it out.

My nails at the moment are all over the place. I'm trying out something new- painting one nail a different color from the rest.  My pinky, along with the rest of my nails, is a deep red.  My ring finger is black.  Now my middle finger has black and red, but I think that's just because I got a bit bored.  Sadly, the polish on my pointer finger fell off.  Just ignore that little mistake.

I was so excited with this shirt that I bought a matching lipstick to go with it- Film Noir by MAC.

Guest Outfit: Preston

This is my friend Preston.  He's been on this blog in the past posing with me here in Outfit #3.  He has wonderful style and always comes to any occasion looking like he just stepped out of a catalogue.  A Brooks Brothers catalogue to be exact.

It's always fun to play around with eyeliner.  Now, I know it's summer but that's no reason to stop.

I feel like Catwoman.

Penelope Cruz

My style idol is Penelope Cruz.  I think I fell in love with her when I saw her in Pedro Almodovar's film Volver.  I can't even count how many times I've seen it.  Since she has so many outfits and amazing photos, I am only posting two of my favorite looks.

This outfit here has been engrained into my brain.  I saw the film Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and loved that the main character, Pepa, wore all red all the time.  It was then my mission to find a red suit.  Of course, Penelope beat me to it.  This is one of my dream outfits.  I have been searching far and wide for a suit like this, and have yet to find one.

When I went to see Broken Embraces, I never expected to see the costumes I did.  They were the most beautiful styles I've ever seen.  Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but they were what I had in my mind as dream outfits.  This photo shows my favorite of all time.  Wearing all black with chunky gold jewelry is just classic and beautiful.  I will attempt this look in the near future and post for all of you to see.
